Working with the grassroots

Garnering change is also the mantra of non governmental organisations or NGOs. The most conducive way to effect change is a true understanding of the political realm. Social change is also about struggles – psychological and physical.

The Masters Program in Government gears aspiring social workers with a strong knowledge of politics that will help them work at the grassroots. The course also aims at preparing students for the struggle and the journey of acceptance that goes hand in hand with fighting for human rights.

The underlying idea is to bring about social change for the better, either by leading from the front or by working at the grassroots level. The course at MIT-SOG provides just the right tool for both.
