A comprehensive visit to various Ministries, Party Offices, Government offices and offices of National importance
(This educational field trip to the seat of power - to the capital city of Delhi essentially captured the essence of the Masters Program in Government and that of the participants who are here to be a part of the nation building process.)

This day was reserved for observing the functioning of the Parliament. Initially the participants had a session at the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training, whereby; the functioning of the BPST was explained to them. Various questions of the participants related to issues such as lack of attendance in the houses, the need for electoral reforms, the role of a parliamentarian etc were discussed and answered satisfactorily. Then the participants visited the Lok Sabha and witnessed its proceedings for 30 minutes. The question hour session was in progress. Many well-known leaders from both the opposition as well as the ruling party were present. Various issues were being raised in front of the honorable speaker Shri. Somnath Chatterjee. Later the participants went to visit the Parliamentary museum, where films on the Indian freedom struggle, Dandi march and Jawaharlal Nehru's Independence speech etc. were shown. Later the team was taken to Parliament's library. The vast collection of books and the digital library comprising of electronic publications on DVDs, CDs was worth observing.
Rajya Sabha: Later the team was taken to the Rajya Sabha where they witnessed the proceedings for some time. The Railway budget was being discussed in the house in the presence of the railway minister Shri.Lalu Prasad Yadav. Issues ranging from the need of railways in the remote hilly regions of the Himachal Pradesh to the reduction of the fares of the railways were discussed.
Later during the day the students visited the famous Akshardham Temple.
