On 24th March the group was captured in the Delhi spirit as they visited there to India Gate amidst rallies that were being held there, on occasion of the World Tuberculosis Day. Then the group headed towards President House or the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Everybody could not help but be awed by the sheer size and magnificence of the place as the guide took them for a tour of the premises. Right from the elegant statues and paintings of the British monarchs to the unique kitchen museum, from the ceremony room to the banquet hall, the marvel
of old world architecture took our breaths away. But what took the cake was the Moghul Gardens. They got to see the vast expanse of this floral haven on the last day of its public sighting.

The group then visited Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) office. They were greeted at the BJP office by many eminent people including Mr. Prakash Jawadekar, National Spokesperson for BJP, Ms. Mridula Sinha, senior activist, Mr. Shyam Jaju, Office Secretary, and Mr. Prabhat Jha, Addl. Office Secretary. After felicitations, Mr. Javdekar enlightened the participants about his role as the national spokesperson before he left for a meeting with Ms. Sinha. Thereafter, Mr. Jha talked to the students. He told them in detail about the party, its history and its work. He urged those who believed in the ideology to join their task force and thus help the nation progress. The participants also met Mr. Vinay Katiyar, MP who spoke to them for a while. The feeling of being in the midst of political honchos of the nation was a heady feeling. One could almost feel the air charged with power, with emotion.

A similar feeling was carried forward as they next went to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office. The place was buzzing with activity with the UP elections at hand and political aspirants thronging the place for tickets to contest the elections. Having seen the grounds, they were led to their conference room for a meeting with Mr. Sanjay Bafna, member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), whom they had the pleasure of meeting with before. As in the BJP, the workings of the AICC and the CWC were explained to them in depth with a promise to take in all those who were interested, to end with.

Following the AICC visit, the group headed to Mr. Prithviraj Chavan’s (Minister of PMO) residence for dinner at the invitation of Mrs. Satvasheela Chavan, who has very warm relations with the MIT-School of Government.
