A comprehensive visit to various Ministries, Party Offices, Government offices and offices of National importance
(This educational field trip to the seat of power - to the capital city of Delhi essentially captured the essence of the Masters Program in Government and that of the participants who are here to be a part of the nation building process.)

The national visit team comprised of the MITSOG participants, students from The Hague University, The Netherlands, two faculty members, two members from institutional relations, one from administration, the librarian and a helper.

On 19th March the team visited the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST), a brief introduction of the working of the Parliament was given by Mrs. Usha Mathur, Deputy Director, BPST, as regards the working and functions of the House and the Secretariat. Further, Mr. Raj Kumar, Research Officer - BPST, who also functioned as our guide inside the Parliamentary premises, gave information about the structure and functions of the BPST. It was followed by a tour of the Parliament library among others. The team also had been to Pratap Ganj Gurudwara. The team headed to Rajpath and also been to North and South block adjoining the parliament. A swift visit was made to the Bharatiya Samajvadi Party (BSP) office and from there they headed to 'The Western court'. It is a place where many ministers have their offices. The participants met Mr. G. K. Vasan - the honourable minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation. He is a young minister, having inherited a political mantle from his father, he could well figure out how important it was for the participants to visit a ministry. |
