FIRST DAY OF MPG BATCH - 03 : 6th AUGUST 2007

As the third batch of Master’s Program in Government under MIT School of Government commenced with the blessings of Shri Sharadchandra ji Pawar, 6th August’07 was the day of the formal introduction, a guideline on academic curriculum for the third batch. The Founder & Dean - MIT School of Government initiated the session with a warm welcome to all the participants. He also shared his vision about the institution, the evolvement of the concept and the development of the establishment. It was preceded by a detailed presentation on Policies and Procedures to be followed during one-year course as well as a general introduction of the Academic and Non-Academic staff members by Director Administration – Mr. Vishnuram Swaminathan. The MIT-SOG Honorary Academic Head and Member Advisory Board - Prof. Dr. Shrikant Paranjpe, shared his views on academic curriculum and its conduct through the yearlong program. He also spoke about the academic schedule, assessment patterns and the participatory mode of teaching.
Post Lunch session was an interactive one where all the participants introduced themselves, their aspirations from the course and even their life’s ambition. It was a very informative session. A Campus tour was organized at the end of the post lunch session. The first day of the academic year ended with a brief informal interaction of participants with the faculty members and administrative staff.
INAUGURAL LECTURE MPG BATCH –03 : 5th AUGUST 2007

MIT School of Government initiated the third batch of Master’s Program in Government for the academic year 2007-08 on 5th August 2007. It was a privilege to have Hon’ble Union Minister For Agriculture Shri Sharadchandraji Pawar to grace the occasion and have his blessings for the third batch – MPG03. Presence of Shri Dilip Valse Patil, State Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Shri Babanrao Pachpute, State Forest Minister further enhanced the very cause of the establishment.
The session began at 10.00am with the screening of Two Documentaries - One on MIT School of Government and its mission and the other on the issue of farmers’ suicides in Vidarbha region for the eminent guests. Hon’ble Shri Pawar ji addressed the MPG Batch-03 participants for half an hour where he lauded the initiative and the efforts of MIT School of Government for good governance. He also stressed on the need to have such an institution and shared his valuable experiences as a Young Leader during his stint in Youth Congress. He urged the MIT-SOG participants to take full advantage of the exposure and experience they will get while pursuing the MPG program.
