Deep thinkers all
The minds behind this institution comprise an eclectic
mix of thinkers with substantial experience in the fields
of education, politics, law, research and management.
They have had their own share of ups and downs and are
here to equip you to stare reality in the face and trudge
on until you reach the summit.
These experts stand by the mantra – India, a
sovereign, democratic republic. And they are faced with
a challenge - to churn out leaders who comprehend the
socio-political scenario in India and create a lasting
impact that reflects progress and equality.

Founder, Executive President and Managing Trustee,
MAEER'S MIT Group of Institutions, Pune, India.
The foundation of MIT Group of Institutions, Pune rests firmly on the adage of the Great Noble Son of India, Swami Vivekananda's, "Union of science and religion/spirituality alone will bring peace to the mankind". When we founded the World Peace Centre, MAEER's MIT, Pune in 1996, we took a step towards trying to bring together science and spirituality with the intention of establishing a 'Culture of Peace in the World'.
India is often referred to as the 'Knowledge Corridor of the World', and can play a major role in the area of union of science and spirituality for world peace. When more and more knowledgeable and motivated youth take active interest in politics, India will be in a position to lead the world in establishing the 'Culture of Peace'.
Establishment of MIT School of Government was a step taken by us in the direction of providing our country with educated leaders thoroughly trained in the art and science of governance, and inspired by the right value systems. My son, Rahul Vishwanath Karad, who is the Chief Initiator and Dean of MIT School of Government, has taken great efforts in the conceptualization and development of this unique and nation-centric program. He personally met all the eminent national leaders of the country in order to impress upon them the need for initiating such a program in the country. All of them endorsed this idea, and most of them even agreed to be a part of the Eminent Faculty for the same.
Mr. T. N. Seshan, former Chief Election Commissioner of India enthusiastically consented to lead MIT-SOG and took personal initiative in designing the program structure and course contents.
MIT Group of Institutions, Pune has always made pioneering efforts in different fields of academics for the overall development of the student community with a view to provide excellent citizens to this country. MIT School of Government is a unique and significant effort that is bound to provide a new direction to the way of governance of the various democratic institutions of this country. I urge all the educated youth of India to be a part of this program, and help shape the future of a strong and vibrant India.

On honing young leaders “Age
is an asset. Age is also a liability. The younger you
are, the more flexible is your mind. Learning to comprehend
the big picture and acknowledging where you stand, is
an important characteristic of a mind that aspires to
occupy a seat of power.
“And students at MIT-SOG will be exposed to the
nitty gritties that go into handling the Indian populace.”

On next generation leaders “Endowed
with profound philosophical and cultural heritage; biodiversity
and natural resources and the world’s largest
pool of young, vibrant minds, India has unprecedented
opportunity to lead the world.
“The greatest challenge for us is to have good
governance for the largest democracy in the world. What
India requires now, is next generation thinkers armed
with international exposure.
“We are looking at creating leaders who believe
in solving the problem, not being part of it!”
